Sometimes it’s best just to start over, clean the slate, clear RAM. It has the feeling of cleanliness and renewal. It has the feeling of learning from your past. It has the feeling of, well, starting over.
Unfortunately that’s really not the case. Starting over is really just throwing up your hands and saying, “that went nowhere.” And so it is, with this blog. It went nowhere. I think there was some interesting moments, but truth be told, I never had focus. There was neither the random casualness of a diary nor the discipline of an essay. I went from moment to moment feeling more obliged than inspired. Eventually I ignored the deadline and the blog went fallow.
So I thought, let’s start over, which is to say, let’s abandon this form of the blog and write a different blog, something I would like to write, and perhaps you would like to read. A blog I feel like promoting and that is worthy of promotion. Hopefully, a blog about nothing but about a lot of little trivial things that are entertaining and interesting.
I think I’ll stick with the categories. And I’ll keep the old stuff. But time for new directions. Wish me luck. It’s fun to start over.
